About the Trumpet
The trumpet is a brass instrument which produces sound by the buzz of lips into a conical mouthpiece. Unlike woodwind instruments they do not require a reed to play. There are several instruments in the trumpet family but the instrument usually used for students is the Bb Trumpet.
What material is the trumpet made from?
All trumpets are made of brass and student models most commonly are manufactured with a lacquer finish. Silver plated trumpets are also popular as they create a different tone and add to the aesthetics of a band.
